Welcome to our Edgewood Newsblast! Typically, these will come out on Mondays and will provide you with the latest information, news and important events related to our Edgewood community.
Important Dates
February 16 – Edgewood PTA Meeting via zoom 6:30
February 18 – Supply /Curriculum Distribution 12:00-4:00 (Kg, 2nd, 3rd, 4th)
Februrary 26 – Family Storytime with Kelly 6:30
Supply and Curriculum Distribution –Thursday, February 18 – 12:00-4:00 – Grades : KG, 2nd, 3rd and 4th (NOT 1st and 5th)
Our next distribution will take place this Thursday from 12:00-4:00. This is for grades KG, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. (Not 1st and 5th) Please contact the office if this time frame does not work for you and we will figure out a plan.
Library Books available for pick up at distribution
If you have checked out any library books by Wednesday, February 17, they will be available for pick up on Thursday’s distribution.

Library books can be returned at distribution or any other day in the box outside the office from 8:00-2:00. We encourage you to return them soon after you are done so that others can check them out. There are a lot of OBOB readers out there!
Family Storytime with Storyteller Kelly – February 26 at 6:30
We are excited to bring our Edgewood community together for a virtual family storytime with Storyteller Kelly. More details to come as we get closer to the date, but please reserve Friday, February 26 and enjoy storytime with our favorite storyteller, Kelly.

COVID Testing – every other Saturday at 4J!
Eugene School District 4J has partnered with the University of Oregon and is hosting free COVID testing for community members every other Saturday. The next COVID testing event is this Saturday, February 27, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Date: Saturday, February 27 and every other week continuing
Time: 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Where: 4J Education Center, 200 N. Monroe St. (enter from Monroe St.)
The testing is provided by the University of Oregon and is a self-collected shallow nasal swab. Results will be available within 2–4 days. If you have questions, please see the information at the registration link or email c19MAP@uoregon.edu.

Other Opportunities;
Mount Pisgah’s Arboretum Exploration Program- Registration Now Open!
This is a weekly 2.5 hour “after school” type program for elementary kids ages 5-11, where they will explore Mount Pisgah with games, hikes, stories and journaling activities. 1-3:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting the first week of March through the first week of June. You can sign up for each session individually, so your student can participate a few times a month or weekly as your schedule allows. 10 students per session max. $15 per session, discounts for Mount Pisgah Arboretum Members. Masks and temperature checks are required. Sign up here.
